U.S. Senators Susan Collins (left) and Joe Manchin (right) had voted to confirm the justices despite fears that they would overturn Roe V. Wade, with the senators saying at the time that they trusted Brett Kavanaugh (top inset) and Neil Gorsuch (bottom inset) to uphold the law. Now Collins, a Republican, and Manchin, a Democrat, are accusing the justices of misleading them as they criticized the court's 6-3 ruling to end women's federal right to an abortion. 'This decision is inconsistent with what Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh said in their testimony and their meetings with me, where they both were insistent on the importance of supporting long-standing precedents that the country has relied upon,' Collins said in a statement. Manchin echoed the outrage, saying: 'I trusted Justice Gorsuch and Justice Kavanaugh when they testified under oath that they also believed Roe v. Wade was settled legal precedent and I am alarmed they chose to reject the stability the ruling has provided for two generations of Americans.'

Brian Laundrie (left, pictured with Gabby Petito) writes that he strangled his 22-year-old fiancé as the result of an 'unexpected tragedy' in Grand Teton National Park in which Petito fell into a creek and injured herself on their road trip last summer. And he began the notebook with a personal message addressed to Gabby, in which he claimed: 'I wish I could be at your side, I wish I could be talking to you right now.' In self-pitying sentences written in smudged blue pen, Laundrie claims he battled to comfort Gabby who was deteriorating, crying in pain and shivering from constant cold. But eventually he killed her, writing: 'I don't know the extent of Gabby's injuries, only that she was in extreme pain. He wrote (right): 'I ended her life. I thought it was merciful, that it is what she wanted, but I see now all the mistake that I made. I panicked. I was in shock. But from the moment I decided, took away her pain.'

Footage shows Antonio Hughes walking from the back row of the Hamilton County courtroom up to the defense table where murder suspect Desean Brown, 22, was sitting. Brown is accused of stabbing Nyteisha Lattimore, 29, to death in December 2020 before throwing her son Nylo, three, into the Ohio River and leaving him to drown. He could face the death penalty if convicted. Once Hughes had crept up behind Brown he smacked him in the face with a right hook and didn't stop punching him until two deputies wrestled him to the ground. And even after he had been handcuffed Hughes continued to lunge at the alleged murderer.

Yrma Lydia, 21, who was beginning her career in music, was shot Thursday night in an exclusive restaurant in the south of the city when she was attacked by her partner, 79-year-old Jesús Hernández Alcocer. 'A man shot his wife three times, he is already detained along with another woman who accompanied him,' Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security for Mexico City, reported on Twitter. According to witnesses, after an argument, the gray-haired man shot the singer, who according to Mexican media was 21 years old.

Former Japanese Princess Mako Komuro, 30, was spotted out and about with her commoner husband, Kei Komuro, also 30, in New York City. The couple held hands as they cut causal figures in Midtown Manhattan on Thursday before splitting ways. The princess was later seen shopping at the Amish Market grocery store. The former princess gave up her royal title to marry her college sweetheart last October in a small civil ceremony, and they have been living in New York City. Everleigh Victoria McCarthy was only two pounds when she arrived three months early on July 25, 2020, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. When the baby developed a brain bleed and was put on a ventilator it seemed unlikely she would survive. The devastated parents, Alana Ross, 37, and Daniel McCarthy, 38, waited and prayed that their baby would come through. Sadly, their daughter died on August 6, 2020, 12 days after being born, family attorney Greg Henning told DailyMail.com. Her devastated parents began to make arrangements and plan for a memorial service for their daughter until they learned the shocking news. The funeral home informed them that their daughter's body was missing and soon their grief turned into a horrific nightmare.

Karlie Kloss and husband Josh Kushner took to the streets of New York City on Friday to protest the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade. The pair, 29 and 37, matched each other in crewneck white t-shirts as they joined hundreds of others who are dismayed by the new ruling. The supermodel even held a sign that read, Public cervix announcement: f*** you.'

Fox News' Tucker Carlson called the Supreme Court's original Roe v. Wade ruling 'poison' and 'political,' and hailed the overturn vote on Friday as a win for America's institutions. 'It degraded and undermined the legitimacy of the Supreme Court, one of our country's central institutions,' he said. 'It was poison.' Carlson said the end of Roe V. Wade reflected the will of the people as anti-abortion demonstraters celebrated in Washington D.C. (top-right), while slamming pro-choice protesters (bottom-right).

The 25-year-old told 'numerous' officers that he was not the man they were seeking, but authorities failed to review records after being told. Bodycam footage (left) shows the officers talking about what to do and telling Lee Brown: 'I'm pretty sure it's going to be you.'

Andrea Prudente, 38, and husband, Jay Weeldreyer, 45, from Washington, were visiting the European island when she suddenly developed heavy bleeding. Andrea, who was 16 week pregnant, was told she had a ruptured membrane, detached placenta, and no amniotic fluid - but the fetus still had a heartbeat. Medical professionals at Mater Dei Hospital, where she was admitted, are now refusing to terminate the pregnancy since abortion is illegal in Malta. The fetus has no chance of survival, so the couple has to wait for it to die on its own. But Andrea is now at risk for infection and hemorrhaging. Andrea considered taking matters in her own hand, with her husband revealing she asked him to hit her 'as hard as he could' to stop the fetus' heartbeat. Jay slammed the hospital for 'prolonging his wife's suffering' and called their refusal to terminate the baby 'physiological torture.'

Baz Luhrmann's Elvis movie is getting film critics all shook up as it has garnered mixed reviews upon its release, with some slamming the film as a 'shameless comic-book biopic' while others have heaped unanimous praise on lead star Austin Butler.   Not exactly known for his subtlety as a filmmaker, Australian director Luhrmann's extravagant approach to the King of Rock and Roll has left many critics complaining that its 159-minute runtime feels as bloated as Elvis himself was in his later years. However, Butler - who plays the titular role - has been hailed in many of the write-ups, even the bad, as being a 'sensation' who manages to convince playing The King in every stage of his life, from a teen up until his untimely death at the age of 42 in 1977.  

This new video recorded Friday morning on the streets of New York City shows a man openly smoking something out of a suspicious looking pipe. The shocking clip was taken outside of a MedRite Urgent Care center along 6th avenue in one of New York City's most bourgeois neighborhoods, Chelsea. As the clip begins, the man is in the midst of smoking whatever is in the pipe for nine seconds. A pedestrian walks by busy on his phone and apparently oblivious to the smoking man. The man, clad in a skin tight Adidas sky blue zip-up sweater with a red shirt protruding underneath, skin tight yoga-style pants and of course, a witch's hat, waits two seconds before sucking on the pipe for the rest of the video.

A man who refused to pay for sex with two prostitutes was caught on camera falling to the ground and running away after he jumped out the second-floor window of a brothel in Chile. The individual joined the two women and another man for the alleged $500 sexual encounter when he decided to flee without paying last Sunday morning in the southern city of Punta Arenas, the online Chilean news site ADN reported. The viral surveillance camera video shows the man landing on the right side of his body as he fell across the paved alleyway.
