IBN24 NEWS NETWORK : The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display, a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery in the global version and 100W wired charging. The European version, however, comes with a smaller 9,210mAh battery.
Redmi Note 17 Pro Max skips the Note 16 name
Xiaomi has moved the Redmi Note lineup from the Note 15 generation directly to Note 17.

The numbering follows a similar naming strategy used across Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone lineup, with the company skipping the number 16. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max sits at the top of the new series.
6.83-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate
The smartphone gets a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 1280 x 2772-pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The display supports 68 billion colors, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Xiaomi has also listed peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits.
The panel includes 3,840Hz PWM dimming and has a pixel density of around 447ppi.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, built on a 4nm process.
The chipset marks a different direction from some earlier Pro+ models, where Xiaomi placed greater emphasis on higher-end performance. The new model instead combines a mid-range chipset with a much larger battery.
The phone is available with LPDDR5X RAM and storage of up to 512GB. The higher-capacity storage variants use UFS 4.0, while the 128GB version uses UFS 2.1.
The smartphone runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3.
50MP main camera with OIS
For photography, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max has a dual rear-camera setup.
The primary camera is a 50MP sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). It is paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera offering a 120-degree field of view.
A 32MP front camera is provided for selfies and video calls.
The rear camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps and 1080p recording at up to 120fps. Electronic stabilization is also available.
10,000mAh battery in the global version

The biggest hardware change on the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is its battery.
The global version comes with a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. Xiaomi says the phone is designed to provide up to three days of battery life.
It supports 100W wired charging and reverse wired charging.
The European model has a 9,210mAh battery instead, meaning battery capacity varies depending on the market.
Multiple IP ratings for water and dust protection
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max also comes with extensive protection against water and dust.
Its listed ratings include IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K. Xiaomi has additionally highlighted protection against immersion and high-pressure water exposure.
The phone also carries certification related to drop resistance.

Battery and durability take priority
With the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi appears to be putting greater emphasis on battery capacity and durability than on a major jump in processing performance.
The combination of a 10,000mAh battery, 100W charging, multiple IP ratings and a large AMOLED display puts the focus on longer usage and protection against everyday conditions.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, meanwhile, places the device in a different performance category from smartphones that use more powerful flagship-oriented chipsets.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max therefore represents a change in priorities for the Redmi Note series, with battery endurance and durability taking a more prominent position alongside the phone’s cameras and display.
