IBN24 NEWS NETWORK : The offer has been introduced as part of Jio’s 10th anniversary celebrations and is aimed particularly at consumers who are still using 2G phones. The company says the package can make the transition to 4G more affordable by combining the cost of the handset with several months of connectivity.
JioBharat 4G Phone Offer : What Do You Get for Rs. 1,499 ?
Under the new offer, eligible JioBharat 4G phones are priced at Rs. 1,499. Customers also receive six months of complimentary connectivity benefits with the device.
The bundled benefits include unlimited HD voice calling and 14GB of data every month. Over six months, this translates into a total of 84GB of data along with unlimited voice calls. Jio has not yet revealed the exact JioBharat models that qualify for this anniversary offer. The company has stated that the deal is available for a limited time and is subject to applicable terms and conditions.
Jio Claims Effective Phone Cost Is Rs. 299
Jio has highlighted the potential savings for existing 2G users through this offer. According to the company, a customer spending approximately Rs. 199 every month on a 2G recharge could spend close to Rs. 1,200 over a six-month period.
Since the new JioBharat package includes six months of connectivity within the Rs. 1,499 purchase price, Jio calculates the effective cost of the handset at around Rs. 299. This calculation is based on the company’s comparison with a Rs. 199 monthly recharge plan.
JioBharat Phones Offer More Than Calling
The JioBharat range is designed as more than a basic calling phone. Users can access several digital and entertainment services through these 4G feature phones.
The entertainment options include JioTV, JioHotstar and Jio’s music services. JioTV provides access to more than 500 television channels, while JioHotstar offers content such as live cricket and movies. Users can also access millions of songs through Jio’s music-related services.
UPI Payments and Family Safety Features
JioBharat phones also support digital payments through JioPay. The feature phone platform includes UPI functionality, payment alerts and support for Sound Box-related features.
For families, Jio offers safety-focused features through its Jio Safety Shield service. These features are designed to provide safer calling and additional tools for family members. The phones also include location-related functionality that can help family members stay connected and track each other’s location, subject to the relevant settings and permissions.
Which JioBharat Phones Are Eligible ?
Jio has not confirmed the specific JioBharat models that are covered under the Rs. 1,499 anniversary deal.
However, some of the specifications mentioned by the company are similar to those found on devices such as the JioBharat B1 and JioBharat B2. These specifications include a 2.4-inch display, a 2,000mAh battery and 4G connectivity. Customers should therefore check the eligibility of the particular model before purchasing it under the anniversary offer.
Jio 10th Anniversary Offer : How Does It Help 2G Users ?
The new offer is primarily positioned as a way for existing 2G users to move to a 4G network without having to purchase a smartphone. Instead of buying a 4G feature phone separately and paying for connectivity, the anniversary package combines the handset with six months of calling and data benefits.
The deal also brings access to services such as digital payments and entertainment, giving traditional feature-phone users additional functionality.
